Skills Pool
Your chance to help put your skills and expertise to good use helping the local Black community or other communities, students, projects, etc.
Summary:
We are looking for people with every and any skills that might benefit our community. This project aims to create a pool of talented people with skills in any of the following areas: mediation, mentoring, design, fundraising, training on diversity (race/ethnicity/culture/gender), public speaking, and general business skills.
Whenever our members, community, statutory organisations’ (for a fee), charities need help with anything from promoting an event, to designing posters to fundraising for project costs, we will put out an email to our skills pool and hopefully within a few days we will be able to provide a couple of people to help.
Student groups and community members and community organisations’ will benefit for free, from the skills and themselves will gain valuable experience in a highly competitive and demanding field.
Help needed:
This will be a project that will require only minimal commitment on an ad hoc basis.
We hope this will appeal to all who feel that they don’t have time to volunteer weekly or monthly but would still like to use their skills to help projects working within the Stockport African and Caribbean community.
We are also able to offer opportunities to volunteer on a more regular basis.
African and Caribbean Community Association (ACCA) is the focal point for Black activities in Stockport. Through events, a website and contacts, we can connect you with a cause to help tackle the social and environmental challenges of today.
